Valentine's Day greetings from the members of Amistad United Church of Christ in Vacaville!
We have become painfully aware of the fact that the chocolate which we love to eat sometimes contains cocoa grown using child labor and forced labor -- in other words, grown by means of slavery.
Because of our name and our Christian faith, we at Amistad have abolition in our DNA. We have become part of the New Abolitionist Movement to abolish 21st century slavery. We hope that you at Ghirardelli share these values.
Please let us know if any Ghirardelli products are made with cocoa grown in the Ivory Coast or in other places where slave labor is used on cocoa plantations.
